What
“Pope Francis: A Man of His Word” movie — a private screening of the movie just for our parish. This critically-acclaimed film opens a unique window onto the Holy Father’s ideas and his encounters with people from all walks of life.
When
Sunday afternoon, May 20 at 2pm. Doors open as early as 30 minutes prior to showing. (Although the movie opens worldwide on May 18, the opening day at the Altamonte Springs Theatre is five days later on May 25.)

Cost
FREE for this private showing only and only for those who make a reservation. We don’t want cost to be an obstacle for anyone’s attendance! A free-will offering will be taken-up at the movie for our parish’s ongoing evangelization efforts.
Reservations Required
You can sign-up online here or after the Masses this weekend in the breezeway. The theater only has 477 seats and we need to make sure everyone who comes has a reserved seat waiting for them. Please only make a reservation if you are making a firm commitment to attend. Any empty seats (no shows) will incur a penalty to the parish of $8.75 each.
Tickets
If you make your reservations online (here), please print your reservation confirmation (emailed to you by EventBrite) as this will serve as your voucher to turn in to receive your free movie ticket at the door. This will enable us to also have the online reservation records with us to wave you through at the door of the theater.
If Your Plans Change (Returns)
If you will not be able to utilize your “tickets”, please complete a refund via the EventBrite website smmpopefrancismovie.eventbrite.com as soon as possible so that your seat may be available to others who wish to attend. Why
Released on the 5th anniversary of his Pontificate, this new film entitled “Pope Francis – A Man of His Word” opens a unique window onto the Holy Father’s ideas and his encounters with people from all walks of life. “Pope Francis – A Man of His Word”, written and directed by three-time Academy Award® nominee Wim Wenders, is intended to be a personal journey with Pope Francis, rather than a biographical documentary about him.
Msgr. Dario Edoardo Viganò, Prefect of the Vatican Secretariat for Communication, set the project rolling when he invited Mr. Wenders to make a film with the Holy Father. The result was a rare co-production between Focus Features and the Vatican.
Pope Francis’ ideas and message are central to the film, which presents his work of reform and his answers to today’s global questions regarding death, social justice, immigration, ecology, wealth inequality, materialism, and the role of the family.
