My dear friends of Resurrection Catholic Church and good people of God,
Notice that I didn't say "my dear parishioners" because you have a new and vibrant pastor who was installed officially at last Sunday's 11:00AM mass. Again I wish to thank you for all you have done for the parish and for me as your pastor during the last seven years. I'm sure that it was done because of your love for God and church. Thank you also for the farewell party last Saturday and I do appreciate all those who organized it.
I will always remember you in prayer.
Blessings,
Fr. Alex Dalpiaz c.s.

It is with a mixture of sadness (for us) and happiness(for him) that we say good bye and thank you to Fr. Alex. We will have a parish-wide celebration for him on Saturday, February 27th in the Parish Center beginning at 6:15pm. We will have “finger foods”, drinks and entertainment. We are looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of the reception (planning, cooking/food preparation, setting up, serving food and drinks at reception, clean-up). We woul ...

About a year ago, I asked my Religious Superior permission to take a year of Sabatical = time away from the pastoral work in order to rest, pray and study. This was recently approved.
I will be leaving the parish by the end of February and a new pastor has been appointed. He will arrive in the second week of February. His name is Father Moacir Balen, c.s. 60 year old and has been a priest for 32 years. He speaks English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
After I leave here, I will take a few days of vacation to see my family, then, I will be stationed at our Theology House in Bogota, Colombia for this year and in September I plan to go to Rome for a few months at t ...

After a beautiful Christmas season we are getting back into the swing of things. The stores and business are already talking about Valentines Day but we Catholics are on a different time cycle. If you follow the Catholic calendar that you received—(I gave out the last of the thousand), you can grow in holiness as an individual and as part of a community of faith—our parish of Resurrection. Yes we are a community of sinners trying to grow in holiness.
Oh, how I wish I could wave my hand whisper a prayer and solve all you needs and wants, but...I always do pray for you. I feel so happy when I see you in church worshipping God and loving your neighbor, when I see you sharing your Time, Talent and Treasur ...

We are trying to live these hectic days of Christmas time with a sense of expectation, preparation, and serenity. We can easily get caught up with the purely material aspects of life thinking that all of these preparations will make us and our families and friends happier. Deep down we do realize that this is not so and that real happiness can only come from spiritual things. We can name just a few of the more important ones: love, real friendship, forgiveness, and prayer.

ALIVE IN CHRIST CAMPAIGN
Last Sunday, November 15 you were not given the usual sermon or homily but a DVD message concerning our Alive in Christ Campaign and the reasons for this Diocesan initiative which is for the benefit of the Diocese and of our parish. I hope and pray that the presentation of this message gives you a better picture of the needs of our Diocese (and also of our parish) that arouse from our Diocesan Synod. This is a five year commitment and I’m sure you will pray over this decision in the next few weeks when you make your pledge.
